The Super G, (Super Gyron) -accepts Panavision, Arriflex , IMAX ( MSM 9802), IWERKS 1570 or any other specialty camera or payload-
The SUPER G (Super Gyron) is a unique 5-axis Aerial Camera System which eliminates adverse motion artifacts from pan, tilt and roll. This completely silent system allows an entire range of cameras, from Hi-DEF video to IMAX 15perf/65mm film cameras. It can be used on many types of helicopters and airplanes to produce stable images throughout a typical 25-500mm (film lens) zoom range*. With advanced notice the system can be upgraded to completely stabilize a 1440mm or greater video lens for advanced aerial Cinematography*.
Fully operational in the sitting or hanging mode, the SUPER G is able to point straight down (Please see tilt ranges below), and features adjustable side arms to accommodate many size payloads.
This system will allow any aircraft to attain 120 knots. If lighter head weights are required we recommend our GYRON FS / STAB-C which can handle airspeeds up to 70 Knots, and is 26 lbs lighter
The SUPER G and all its features are fully controllable via our Advanced Data Link, which can allow the head and control desk to be miles apart. Our Advanced Data Link fully integrates with any microwave, laser, RF, IR, or other communication relay systems on the market.
The utmost in creativity can be attained with the SUPER G because the roll axis is fully controllable / maneuverable, yet stabilized. This is the only aerial camera system on the market which has steerable roll.
This system has proven itself in -30° F weather in the frozen tundra of Northern Canada, as well as in 120° F temperatures in the sand dunes of Namibia. It has been fully drenched with water, frozen with snow and ice, and has operated at multi-G turns of a helicopter. In each of these extreme cases the SUPER G system has worked perfectly, surpassing expectations every time.
Control Options
Ergonomically designed joystick control desk with detachable pan/tilt and roll-axis handles
The system can also use typical gear head wheels for operator comfort
Our 16 bit Advanced Data Links can separate the head from the control desk by miles
